Basic Purpose & Scope:
Under the direction of the Maintenance Team, the Electrician will be expected to understand and provide leadership to improve line effectiveness & reliability of electrical/electronic systems by performing the following:
Facilitate control wiring diagrams and equipment troubleshooting
Application of electrical standard and regulation codes
Facilitate development/enhancements of preventive maintenance & troubleshooting guides for electrical, electronic, process control, data systems & equipment
Conduct training on electrical, electronic, process control, data systems & equipment
Conduct CBM scans of plant Buss-Ducts, transformers and MCC panels
Address electrical issues with distribution equipment, such as stretch wrappers, dock locks/levelers, skid squeezers, etc.
Assist maintenance coordinators on duty with production trouble calls where needed
Job Duties Include:
Enhance the Springfield facility’s electrical/electronic systems. Work with production, maintenance, management, and equipment operators to improve the equipment’s electrical systems and controls, including:
provide technical support and training to plant electrical, electronic, servers and process control systems
develop and modify software and PLC programs
evaluate and recommend selection of electrical and electronic components to provide a high degree of reliability
Update equipment documentation and electrical prints as changes are made or observed, inform team leader of changes needed.
maintains up-to-date library of all PLC programs (Asset Center)
aintain Data systems (Servers, HMI’s, Laptops)
facilitate efforts to develop component list for rebuild kits, assemblies & standby equipment
recommend/implement continuous improvement on equipment, electrical/electronic components, and system design to improve line effectiveness & equipment reliability
Work with Maintenance and Production Management and individual maintenance associates to plan and schedule work through the following tasks.

Update Bill of Material (B.O.M)
Facilitate part requests for Maintenance Acitivities.
Coordinate required labor resources to perform job
Analyze job performance measures for continued improvement
Facilitate the installation of electrical systems:
electrical/control schematics and control cabinet drawings and instruction manuals for electrical systems of new installations
maintains, “as built” electrical and pneumatic schematics and work in conjunction with project engineering draftsman to insure the drawing files are up to date
recommend electrical systems, materials, PM program, technical training & spare parts for all new installations
Utilize the SAP system to document maintenance activities.
Understands & accepts Total Quality culture and is supportive of plant & department team goals & vision.
Participate in weekly QCDSM meetings & facilitate Idea & Suggestion initiates for area of focus on assigned shift.
Conform to Kraft, Foods, Inc., Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and perform area housekeeping duties.
Perform all work in a safe and efficient manner consistent with lockout/tag out, hot work, fall protection, and other OSHA regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Team Leader.
Provide leadership in Failure Analysis to determine root causes of reoccurring failures.
Provide leadership to increase OEE for Kraft, Springfield.
Support plant goals in achieving World Class Predictive Maintenance status.
Work in different business units & other shifts to expand business knowledge.
Work in different focus areas to help balance the workloads of the electrical group.
Accountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the Springfield QRMP accountability document
Person must have a minimum of 2 years industrial electrical/electronics/process control experience.
Strong knowledge in:
maintenance, electronic/electrical power and control systems, and/or demonstrate sufficient training and experience in electronic/electrical power and control systems.
use of Allen-Bradley and Texas Instruments programmable logic controllers for machine/process controls and troubleshooting
design electrical circuits and control cabinets using PLC’s temperature controllers, counters, and miscellaneous control/pneumatic hardware
use and operation of process variable sensing elements (RTD’s, thermocouples, transducers, humidity/moisture meters, photoelectric sensors, etc.) and be able to apply them to manufacturing environment
configure and calibrate all forms of electrical, electronic, and pneumatic process equipment
make revisions to documentation
electrical installation and construction
application of both AC/DC motor drives
SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook e-mail
technical writing skills
Must have the ability to:
lead and participate in plant problem solving teams
apply problem-solving techniques & train others in problem solving/troubleshooting of electronic/electrical circuitries systems
communicate technical information efficiently and effectively with all levels of management and plant personnel
demonstrate leadership in continuous improvement
Must be willing to upgrade skills in areas where skills are not at the required level.
May be required to work in different business units & other shifts to expand business knowledge.
Will be required to pass job qualification criteria for position that includes, but is not limited to, mechanical knowledge and basic shop equipment.
