KeyLogic is seeking an Engineer (entry to mid level)
to join our Energy Systems Analysis team in Pittsburgh.
BS/MS/PhD in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
0 - 10 years of experience in energy systems analysis with an emphasis on the following:
Pulverized coal power plants
Natural gas combined cycle plants
Aspen Plus process simulation software
Carbon dioxide capture (pre- and post-combustion)
Chemical looping combustion
Pinch analysis for process heat integration
Power system cost estimating
Strong oral and written communication skills (ability to prepare journal and conference manuscripts and to present results to a technical audience)
Strong Excel and Visual Basic skills
Fundamental theoretical principles governing directly and indirectly heated supercritical CO2 power-cycles
Physical property estimation/models for CO2 at and near the critical point including basic thermodynamic properties and transport properties
Design and cost estimation for heat exchangers using supercritical CO2 and either air, water, or another supercritical CO2 stream
Design and cost estimation for components of supercritical CO2 power cycles including turbo-machinery, direct and indirect CO2 heaters and coolers, and CO2 recuperators
RD&D on the development, testing, and demonstration of supercritical CO2 power cycles
Thermodynamic cycle analysis of heat engines
