EFS), an EMCOR core business, services over 1 billion square feet of space worldwide. From corporate campuses to single sites, EFS provides a range of services that support mission-critical areas of financial services, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, transportation, and government sectors.
This position completes electrical commercial and industrial estimates. This includes complete project takeoff’s, including materials, rental, subcontractor pricing, and self-perform labor. Design build and best value suggestions, including options is a must. Will develop preliminary schedules, including long lead items, task development and sequence of operation. Works with outside engineers to create stamped approved drawings and coordination of permit requirements. This position operates out of a central location for self-preform projects, and can also involve estimates, budgets, capital expenditures, and conceptual cost for our national customers. Strong knowledge of electrical building systems and code is needed to perform this job. Experience with reading plans, specifications is required. For design-build projects, design of electrical distribution systems, load calculations, lighting layout, power requirements, and safe electrical work practices is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Preforms project estimating and budgets
• Establishes takeoff of material, labor, rental and subcontractor
• Includes electrical safety requirements in the estimate
• Completes a bid summary based on the takeoff
• Writes a clear and defined proposal, including options
• Reviews job end budgets to revise estimating labor database
Completes site visits to determine best value for the customer, including design build requirements
Communicates well with internal and external customers to meet and or exceeds expectations. Develops and establishes professional relationships with customers with honesty and integrity
• Completes capital expenditure budgets, and conceptual budgets for accounts locally and nationally
• Engineering Requirements
• Labor, Subcontractor and Rental database
• Prepares change order pricing in a timely manner
• Understands and supports project managers through the permit process
• Includes all contract document requirements in the estimating pricing
• Maintain complete estimated project files with preliminary project schedules
• Schedules and completes a handoff meeting to the project manager who will complete the project.
Promotes other Viox Trades, and includes Trade Managers, and Project Managers to develop a turn-key solution for our customers.
Undergraduate Degree in Construction Management and or Electrical Engineering and or Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
Over 6 years previous experience managing electrical construction projects and or 6 years’ experience in electrical estimating is desired.
A valid state driver’s license in good standing is preferred.
State electrical contractor license is a plus.
Basic English-Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, E-mail, Estimating Software and other software knowledge may be required.
Hands on electrical experience preferred.
