Under direction from the Maintenance Manager, the HVAC Technician works on a wide variety of equipment and facility systems. Responds to emergency situations as necessary at a moment’s notice. Follows the Company’s safety program and goals and performs testing of safety equipment. Directs and assists Mechanics and Utility Mechanics in the day-to-day operation of the Maintenance Department and performs related duties as required.

General labor, construction, millwright, machining, pumps, boiler, vessels, and tanks, electrical and HVAC systems.
Work from ladders, scaffolds, catwalks, or high lifts
Work from detailed instructions both written and oral
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layouts, drawings, and/or specifications
Work in plant, office, or shop environments
May be required to work any shift and Saturday and/or Sunday
Perform clerical duties using the appropriate forms, files, and computer programs in the accepted manner as requested
Work with internal customers to provide support for small projects; troubleshoot equipment problems using operational procedures and products to eliminate downtime
Ensure inventory and parts are in stock or that a purchase order request has been written
Help to maintain records on equipment to build history to track equipment service and replacement requirements.
Assist in training of less skilled mechanics
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment and systems
Identify projects for Capital funding and develop a budget for such
Work with and/or supervise projects using outside contractor
Perform all work according to Nalco Champion quality and safety procedures.
High School Diploma or GED.
8 years of experience in a HVAC Mechanical Field
2 years of supervisory experience
Experienced in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and correcting diverse HVAC service issues.
Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
Lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items
A valid Class “C” Texas driver’s license
This position will require occasional weekend call-out (including nights) and holiday work on a rotating basis.

Formal Craft training or NCCER preferred
TCEQ licensed for waste water treatment and water well operation
Must be able to work alone or lead a crew
Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision
Proficient with Microsoft Office
