Education / Licensure / Certification:


High School Diploma or equivalent - Required.



1 year previous billing experience preferred.

Additional information on Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding in a physician office setting preferred.

Job Description:


Responsible for Insurance follow-up activities and Workqueue maintenance in the Charge Review, Follow-Up No Response, Follow-Up Denial, Claims Clearinghouse/Payor Rejections, Retro Review, Claim Edit, Pre-Collections, Credit Workqueues and appointment scheduling, patient billing calls and Insurance Medical records request/chart reviews.


Assists patients by phone and in person with insurance and billing questions and schedules patient appointments by phone in an efficient, friendly and courteous manner. 10 %

Daily maintenance of assigned Workqueues. 20 %

Handles all follow up on denied claims and resolves claim issues timely to keep accounts out of the 60 days aging category. 15 %

Identifies and refers patients with insurance balances over $100 (patient or insurance) to Collections Specialist for phone contact and follow up. 10 %

Identifies and resolves any claims processing issues such as appeals, medical records requests, coordination of benefits questionnaires and pre-existing condition questionnaires. 10 %

Performs Front Office duties (check-in/check-out) and daily deposit as assigned. 10 %

Performs Urine Drug Screens, Charge Entry and Charge Entry Verification as needed. 10 %

Pulls EOBs for any claim in 31-60 or older category to scan to Revenue Cycle Team for posting. 15 %
