As a Machine Learning Architecture Intern at Micron Technologies in Embedded Business Unit, you will be analyzing different neural networks, deep learning applications and their computational & memory requirements. These requirements will help define Micron's next generation products optimized for Machine Learning applications. Micron is a technology leader in memory and storage products, and a market leader in embedded markets. As an intern in the architecture team, the candidate will get a unique opportunity and develop deep understanding of many current and new technologies that can be leveraged to address future of machine learning implementation in real applications.
Your responsibilities and engagements will include, but not limited to:
*Support definition of memory & computation requirements of image processing applications with ML *Generate models of vision processing neural nets using standard frameworks and libraries *Develop and document knowledge of low level hardware architecture and dataflow for Machine Learning architectures *Evaluate and analyze different nets in terms of performance, memory requirements, power consumption, area, complexity and flexibility on sample hardware platforms *Develop software and scripts to perform benchmarking and generate reports
Successful students for this internship will have:
*Experience with machine learning software packages (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Caffe, Theano, Torch) *Strong background in Python and C/C++ *Ability to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to non-experts *Ability to measure performance requirements of a neural network, i.e. # of operations, # of weights, accuracy, etc.
*Completed some coursework in Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning *Understanding of computer vision, imaging applications, and required algorithms *Exposure to GPU technology and hardware accelerators *Knowledge of machine learning architecture *Experience with CUDA/ Nvidia GPU
Pursuing a degree in a Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering or a related field
Prefer a Graduate student doing research in ML field with strong experience/interest on mapping deep learning processing requirements to hardware subsystems
