Conducts all laboratory/ field work testing for optimal fracturing fluid systems in parallel with well design.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

Conducts fluid testing using Grace rheometers and analytical laboratory equipment in model fracturing fluid systems for industrial application.

Provides compiled data, which includes analytical and fluids chemistry, using high-pressure/ high-temperature equipment, to Supervisor and/ or Applications Engineer.

Supports the evaluation and design of fluid systems and identifies any interference through method modification.

Ensures laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated properly.

Maintains high level of organization at all times.

Communicates effectively with team members and customers to ensure success.

Other duties as assigned.

Education/ Experience

Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in core discipline (Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering) preferred.

Previous 2-3 years experience in analytical or wet chemistry lab is preferred.

Language Skills

Must be able to speak, read and write English well enough to read technical documents and effectively communicate with team members.

Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate all data generated and project status to all levels of employees.

Computer Skills

Must be able to use a Windows-based personal computer.

Proficient using Excel and Microsoft Word.

Certifications/ Licenses

Certificate of current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP) is preferred.

Other Technical Skills

Good Hand eye coordination and ability to use technical equipment with accuracy.

Must be able to multi-task effectively in time sensitive situations.


This position may be required to complete a functional test quantifying the physical requirements for the essential functions of the position.

Employee must be physically able to perform all essential job functions required in this position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, hear, talk and smell.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

May be required to wear or use a respirator.


Complies with all Company Quality Management System Standards, Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions.

Supports the CES Quality Policy Statement.

Performs all work in accordance with established RPC and Company specific Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions.

Performs duties within established standards and customer requirements.

Must be familiar with UNID numbers for chemical transportation purposes.

May work in an office, shop or warehouse environment.

May be required to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings.

May be required to work outside assigned District location to support internal and external customers.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

DOT Status: DOT or Operational
