POSITION SUMMARY: The lead clinician will be responsible for coordinating clinical staff for a highly specialized program. This federally funded program provides health and psychological services for children (infant – teen) who are in the U.S. from Spanish speaking countries, but are unaccompanied by an adult. Work with children as well as sponsors to assess safety and appropriateness to release the children to these sponsors’ care. The lead clinician is also responsible for; training new clinicians and supervising all clinical staff within this highly specialized program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Provide clinical supervision to staff of licensed social workers who assess and treat unaccompanied children.
-Review case notes and recommend treatment plans to ensure quality service delivery
-Monitor frequency and efficiency of mental health assessments, individual and group therapies and crisis intervention provided
-Oversight of SPARCS (Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress) implementation, data collection and analysis of treatment outcomes
-Coordinate individual and group art therapy and substance abuse prevention sessions for unaccompanied minors.
-Provide direct clinical services during periods of influx or interim staffing
-Develop and maintain productive affiliations and linkages with community mental health providers to ensure responsive, quality servicing of unaccompanied children in the event emergency services are needed
