Lead Project Manager - BWSR Knolls Laboratory - Schenectady, NY
This position is for an experienced Senior Project Manager reporting to the Site Manager as part of his organization.
BWSR Knolls Laboratory performs decontamination and decommissioning services under a multiple year contract.
Job Description / Specific duties include but are not limited to:
This position is responsible for the effective management of a Project Office (PMO) that manages complex, multi-year projects through identification and completion of critical path and parallel work activities to achieve optimum performance.
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining a PMO that is capable of all aspects of project management (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & control, and project closeout) for the site.
This position is responsible to lead effective implementation of the Earned Value Management System, as well as risk management and planning for BWSR NRF Idaho.
This position is responsible for data administration for enterprise scheduling, resource, and earned value management toolsets.
Assist BWSR in its enterprise approach to establish common project management protocols across all of the BWSR D&D contract sites.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Science or Business with a minimum of 5 years continuous experience as a Project Manager is required.
The working knowledge of DOE Order 413.3B is highly desirable.
Certification as a Project Management Professional is required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field demonstrating increased levels of responsibility and management supervisory experience on large, complex projects involving radioactive and/or hazardous waste generation and disposal.
The potential candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) “L” clearance.
U.S. citizenship required. No dual citizenship
The potential candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain radiological dosimetry in the Naval Reactors Program.
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship (with no dual citizenship) and ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.
