The Learning Manager, Supply Chain is responsible for driving leadership development, learning and organizational development initiatives for the Supply Chain function. The role reports to the Senior Director of Talent Management and will lead an internal team, work with internal customers and manage large leadership development and learning projects for the Supply Chain organization (corporate and field). Cross functional collaboration is critical, because this role has dotted line reporting to the Supply Chain team and to the HRBP supporting Supply Chain. This position will be located at the corporate headquarters on the western edge of Houston in the energy corridor. Travel up to 30%.


Bachelor’s degree, preferably Master’s Degree, in Training, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, business or related disciplines. Prefer experience with supply chain and foodservice.

5 years of related experience in:

Design and development of leadership and functional training programs

OD needs assessment and project work – including work with role definitions and career development

Internal or external consulting with various level of leaders and associates

Implementing large-scale initiatives in a corporate and field environment

Project management and team coordination

Team leadership

Proven track-record of progressive career development

Delivering solutions within environments undergoing significant change


This position reports to the Senior Director of Talent Management. The role will manage a small team of two people. In this role the Learning Manager, Supply Chain is responsible for driving leadership and learning and development efforts for the Supply Chain function in corporate and the field. Scope includes, but is not limited to:

Performance consulting – works as an internal consultant to Supply Chain to complete Needs Assessments and to evaluate the structure and effectiveness of work, roles, groups to identify key skills and related training needs

Leadership development – develops leadership programs including advanced programs for senior leaders at the market, OpCo and corporate levels and basic management skills programs for managers and supervisors

Functional training - develops skills training and process training to support defined needs for Supply Chain (warehouse, drivers, maintenance, corporate, routing, logistics, inbound and outbound, etc.)

Organizational design – evaluates current roles and responsibilities and the impact of standardization to ensure that all work is aligned and clearly assigned; gathers data through documentation, leader interviews, focus groups, surveys, etc.

Role and career development – Identifies and documents skills needed for key roles & assesses gaps; creates a roadmap for career development in the Supply Chain organization from first-level leaders to OpCo Vice President of Operations; rolls out the career development program

Change management – Creates communications and change management plans for leadership development and functional learning projects as needed

Field ready implementation - Drives the rollout and execution of key leadership development and learning programs

Program Evaluation: Monitors initiative effectiveness using High Impact Evaluation, makes improvement recommendations, and follows-up with leadership as appropriate.

Team leadership: Leads a team of two – an instructional designer and a trainer

Facilitation: Facilitate sessions that support the rollout of initiatives

Proven ability as leadership development and learning professional

Ability to work in a matrix environment – with direct and dotted line reporting relationships

Ability to resolve routine problems and questions independently

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with moderate supervision

Ability to work within set schedules and deadlines

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with team members, leaders and associates at all levels

Strong organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment

Strong front of the room skills with ability to facilitate and present information effectively verbally and through written communication to a wide range of people (e.g., executives, leaders, associates, etc.)

Knowledge of needs assessment, design, delivery, career development

Superior verbal and written communication and presentation skills
