Position Summary: The Director of Licensing will support the profitable revenue growth of our global organization through the establishment and implementation of a licensing strategy. Duties to include identifying opportunities for licensing, building and presenting licensing proposals, negotiating contracts, day to day management of active licenses, and budgetary management. Essential Functions\/Major Responsibilities:Seek major demand-creator licenses which will generate significant volume. Targets to include:Major entertainment and studio brands Trending properties across digital platforms social media, interactive digital gaming, and internet-based properties as new opportunities to reach younger consumersArtist-driven portfoliosWork independently as well as collaboratively with product managers and market researcher to identify licensed opportunities.Provide input into Licensing section of internal product line business reviewsPrepare pitches for licensors for new licenses coordinating with internal team members for assets needed.Serve as the contract expert internally and provide guidance as needed to product, marketing, sales teams about the license.Maintain roster and documentation of active licenses. Start renewals and exits on a timely basis to avoid business disruption.Request and negotiate amendments to existing licenses as needed.Collaborate with Legal department on execution of licenses.Take Company-wide perspective in management of licenses for opportunities to share and extend across divisions.Monitor licensor compliance as specified in contracts and inform relevant internal team members accordingly and proactively.Liaise with international divisions and offices of Company on global licenses and opportunities.Periodically attend major account appointments with account executives to obtain primary feedback from customers regarding licensed properties and products.May be called upon to present content regarding licensed properties and opportunities to sales executives at sales meetings and trade shows. Experience, Competencies, and Education:A minimum of 8 years of progressive licensing management experience is required. The candidate should possess a proven record of success in developing and implementing licensing plans which resulted in profitable goal achievement. Consumer product industry experience preferred with extensive licensor and licensing agents industry contacts. Experience in social media, interactive game and internet-based property licensing preferred. Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions, make recommendations and present ideas to senior management. Must be persuasive with solid communication capabilities. The ability to sell\/pitch ideas to others is crucial. Innovation and the ability to envision new programs are required. Proficiency with Word, Excel and Power Point. Bachelors degree in marketing, business or related field or equivalent experience. MBA preferred. Travel: Domestic trade shows, consumer shows, licensing expos and summits, licensor and licensing agent visits, and retailer visits. Possible international travel to global Enesco divisions; international trade, consumer, and licensing shows\/events; and international licensor offices.
