Maintenance Manager - Columbus
Supervise, plan, organize, control, and coordinate the maintenance, repair, and service of plant manufacturing equipment, buildings, and facilities to ensure optimum production effectiveness. Comply with company policies and procedures relating to health, safety and personnel practices. The incumbent works within established policies, procedures, practices, and regulations.
Maintain good employee relations through directing, training, appraising, and counseling of maintenance personnel in day to day job perform Ensure consistent and fair application of established personnel policies and practices.
Assign work to maintenance staff (both directly and indirectly) or to outside contractors. Ensure all maintenance shifts have an effective coordinated effort.
Responsible for updating and overseeing an effective preventative and predictive maintenance process on all production equipment and company manufacturing assets.
Ensure effectiveness of spare parts inventory system through computerized maintenance program and supervise tool crib attendant personnel.
Conduct employee orientation and ensure maintenance personnel awareness and adherence to company and OSHA safety and health policies and procedures. Ensure environmental policies and procedures are followed as well as safe work practices including lockout/tag out, confined space entry, proper forklift operating procedures, housekeeping, and following MSDS safe work directives.
Participate in corporate or business unit maintenance programs and initiatives to collaborate with company colleagues to assure coordinated approach toward company overall objectives.
Other special duties may also be assigned.
Plans, organizes, and directs the day-to-day work flow and activities of maintenance personnel. Reviews completed assignments for quality and accuracy. Evaluates the performance of subordinates; recommends salary/title changes, as well as hire/fire actions.
Daily contact will be made with hourly production personnel, plant staff, vendors, and corporate personnel.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other technical discipline. A minimum of ten years of maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred; in some cases experience may offset education requirement.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, equipment and part drawings and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
PC SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE:
Working knowledge with personal computer, basic word processing, working knowledge of computerized maintenance application management systems, PLC's (familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC's preferred) and spreadsheet applications. (Microsoft Word and Excel preferred).
Physical demands include hearing, speaking, seeing, writing, driving, carrying, standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting of 30#, simple grasping, pulling, pushing, crawling, twisting, and repetitive use of hands..
Normal office environment and frequent exposure to production environment including exposures to lead, fumes, noise, dirt, hazards, poor ventilation, chemicals, extreme heat, extreme cold, odors, toxins.
