The Market Development Manager (MDM) responsible, as a part of a team, for developing new business opportunities, identifying and creating partnerships with key software and data management partners that enhance our offering, and driving top line growth utilizing a full suite of Avery Dennison solutions and products for the food and restaurant supply chain. You will work closely with the Sales, Innovation, Systems Integration and Product Development teams to create new partnerships that drive growth, and identify and evaluate opportunities that convert into new sales across North America and Europe
Assess restaurant and grocery supply chain eco-system to identify, develop relationships with and manage potential software and data management partners that allow Avery Dennison to provide more complete systems solutions to the market.
Identify, assess, develop and manage new business opportunities in the food and restaurant industry leading to successful commercialization efforts.
Assist in driving commercial execution and sales results for the food supply chain by connecting with broader commercial front-end team.
Incorporate knowledge of the industry to partner with stakeholders to develop market right solutions, support materials and pricing recommendations across solutions.
Determine market requirements for software and systems, identify partner or internal development resources to accomplish.
Work with prospective customers to identify unmet needs that merit broad market solution development..
Initiate, determine, and present ROI business case analysis at the market level.
Stay abreast with industry trends by attending trade shows, events and staying on top of market insights as well as global branding trends.
Working with development teams, identify new ideas, products applications and solutions.
Craft customized go-to-market strategies for specific sectors within the food market.
Develop long-term business opportunities.
Develop and maintain working relationships with business partners.
Collaborate with other business units to create solutions that leverage Avery Dennison expertise.
Deep knowledge of the food and restaurant industry, ecosystem, supply chain in North America required, and Europe strongly preferred.
Deep expertise in food industry software enterprise management, data connectivity, supply chain software and software providers.
Working knowledge of printer, software, and RFID solutions preferred.
Ability to develop go-to market strategy, as well as execute activities.
5 years of experience in
business development, sales or marketing required, with expertise in the food and restaurant industry.
Ability to have high level software architecture, connectivity, and business driver/ ROI discussions with CIO and other C-suite executives in the food industry.
Detail oriented, project management and communication skills a must.
Strong influencing skills and ability to champion projects both cross functionally and vertically within the organizatio
n, ability to gain buy-in from senior-level executives
Self-starter who can uncover new opportunities, identify roadmaps and define innovations innovations to address them
Have a solid understanding of finance and ROI analysis.
A demonstrated track record in developing and executing new business opportunities.
Excellent interpersonal, written communications, and organizational skills.
Ability to travel frequently.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Marketing, Business, Hospitality Management or a related field strongly preferred.
