Market Sales Representative

They understand the wholesaler mindset and know how to create unique value propositions for their clients. That’s why leading CPG companies rely on our client’s team to wire their brands to wholesaler and IFSO decision makers.

Our client is currently seeking a Market Sales Representative based in the New Orleans area to report to the Group Leader and be responsible for cultivating productive business relationships with assigned distributors to achieve sales volume and points of distribution targets within their market area.

Responsibilities

include, but are not limited to:

Distributor Training: Work with Distributor Sales Representatives (DSRs) and Sales Managers to educate on brands and programs and ensure best-in-class selling of established portfolio.

Execution: Execute plans as assigned by the company that are aligned with business objectives and customer strategies.

Selling: Actively solicit new accounts, sell in new items and new points of distribution in new and existing accounts, sell in and place point-of-sale materials, racks and displays and close Independent Merchandising Agreements (IMAs).

Compliance: Drive distributor compliance in chain and independent accounts through store audits to ensure flawless execution. Provide audit reports and ensure distributor follows up on action items in a timely manner.

Communication: Facilitate excellence in execution in the daily business by planning, communicating, anticipating, measuring and reporting results consistently and implementing corrective action or learning. Provide weekly Market Area Tracker detailing activities and results to Group Leader.

Customers: Present new items, promotional programs and DSR incentive programs to distributor sales force at DSR meetings. Responsibilities include planning and executing market sales blitzes and coordinating POS needs for distributor(s).

MSA/VIP: Utilize Distributor MSA/VIP data to identify customer opportunities and trends, track new accounts sold and points of distribution.

Safety: Ensure safe work practices are followed.

Budgets: Manage expense budgets.

Perform other responsibilities and activities as requested.

Qualifications:

2 year college degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

2 years’ experience in Field Sales or Account Management.

Demonstrated success in previous roles.

Solid analytical and technical skills in MS Office.

Field Based Role: 90% in trade.
