This position will be responsible for providing measurement services and support. Responsibilities of the position will include, but are not limited to: Applying natural gas measurement skills and aptitude to repair, install, troubleshoot and perform other predictive and preventative maintenance tasks on assigned measurement and ancillary equipment; maintaining assigned equipment including gas meters, regulators and relief valves, RTU & SCADA equipment and related communication equipment, valves and valve operators, gas filters, and auxiliary equipment such as electrical generators in a manner to meet operational needs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements; recognizing operating deviations and takes appropriate corrective action; maintaining cleanliness and general appearance of facilities and surrounding work areas as needed; reading and interpreting drawings, schematics, and technical manuals as well as other technical resources in the performance of assigned work; effectively uses hand, power, and specialty tools and equipment; maintains records for required state, federal, and company procedures; utilizes computers and associated software applications for e-mailing internal and external communication, record keeping, on-line reporting, material and supply ordering, and filing/maintenance of various forms and records; responds to emergency situations; actively contributes as a member of the organization providing and supporting the training of other employees; performing administrative duties in addition to technical tasks; and other activities including budgeting, planning, scheduling, problem solving, and prioritization. This role will also schedule, coordinate, and inspect the work of third party contractors; assist technical personnel and/or performs other tasks as assigned by management; and other job duties as assigned or required.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred
Experience with high volume, high pressure measurement facilities such as power plants and interconnects is preferred
Experience with gas quality instrumentation, odorization, chromatographs, and communication equipment is a plus
Demonstrated working knowledge or basic understanding of the operating and maintenance requirements for natural gas measurement equipment
Proficiency with computers including MS Office software experience
Effective written & verbal communication
Excellent interpersonal skills with a willingness to work in a collaborative environment that includes shared responsibilities
Establishing & maintaining sound working relationships in support of the organization & company objectives
Willingness to work in all areas required
Candidate must exhibit a sense of urgency, individual responsibility, and willingness to accept constantly changing priorities
Must be qualified or able to qualify in Measurement Skills as defined by company Skill Progression Program within established deadlines with a demonstrated desire to advance individual skills as assigned/required by management in accordance with defined timeframes
Performs work independently with minimum supervision
This position is required to contribute to all segments of the business in support of measurement operational objectives. This position may be subject to hazardous conditions including escaping gas, adverse weather conditions and temperatures, heights, high-pressure gas, heavy lifting, and cramped conditions. May be required to travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, and training involving some overnights stays away from home. Must reside within 45 minutes of the reporting work location. Subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and extended workdays and/or workweeks. May be required to carry a cell phone and to participate in a rotating on-call schedule. Must have a proven safe driving record, must maintain a valid driver’s license and be subject to U.S. Department of Transportation Drug & Alcohol related regulations.
