Packaging Manager','1724044','!*!This person will support the strategic offering and opportunities for Co-Packer Development and Supply Chain Initiatives by leading a cross functional team to identify, select, and set up co-packers as needed by the business to deliver on strategic initiatives. They will also manage the ongoing relationships with the co-packers and provide support as necessary to the Co-pack Operations team.
Managing a team, this role will also be responsible for overseeing a cross functional team to ensure the successful launch of new product initiatives. The team will plan and coordinate the setup, ordering and run out of materials for initiatives, product launches, and short term programs to support the business while minimizing obsolescence and cost.
The team will engage as point of contact for materials management for initial productions, regional promotions, run out strategies and Limited Time Offers (LTOs). Directly liaise with internal business partners and external suppliers to drive full alignment of scope and timeline to ensure successful service to customers while minimizing exposure and cost risk.
Responsible for the oversight and coordination of supply chain projects to drive process improvements and the development of execution strategies to maximize customer fill rate at least cost. Adding value to the business through speed of service (efficiency) and relationship management (growth) with Customer Service, Transportation, Warehousing, Capacity Planning, Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Finance and key collaborative business partnerships with our external and internal customers such as DSD Branches / Plants, Sales and Marketing.
Work with stakeholders in Brand, Sales, IMO, Engineering, Quality, and R&D to understand project requirements and lead the search for suitable co-packers to meet these requirements
Manage the co-packer search, selection, and set up process through to first commercial production
Work with Procurement to manage co-pack contracts and pricing
Manage the team that will lead all Supply Chain Planning development and integration activities for assigned projects
Liaise with cross functional peers as necessary during project lifecycle to ensure successful and flawless execution.
Manage and coordinate cross functional teams to ensure requirements (e.g. sourcing location, capacity planning, production planning, materials, transportation, master data management, etc.) are validated and aligned to execute new product launches, product transitions and regional promotional activities
Communicate project requirements and launch strategy to manufacturing plants as required
Develop and coordinate dynamic tracking and reporting tools to monitor accuracy to commitments for first production, deployment and order shipments; ensure sales service levels are supported
Lead issue resolution to identify root causes for material and finished good shortfalls, late or missed shipments, or case cuts resulting from insufficient or incorrectly located inventory and drive implementation of process changes to prevent reoccurrence.
Work with team to develop runout and transition plans for discontinued SKUs to optimize service levels while minimizing obsolescence
Supports the initiatives product launch process to successfully support flawless execution.
