Position Summary

The Material Planner determines the aircraft parts inventory that is necessary to provide the most cost effective material support. The Planner also determines where the inventory should be positioned throughout the system in order to optimize support and maximize operational performance.

Essential Responsibilities

· Collect data about the fleet with focus on reliability, cost, and turnaround time

· Compile a statistical planning model to forecast the demand and investment required to meet demand

· Work with Technical Standards to set up part numbers in the maintenance and engineering database

· Meet with provisioning and product support representatives from aircraft and equipment manufacturers

· Generate a list of parts to purchase and prepare an authorization for expenditure for new materiel

· Prepare, renew, and revise station allocation of fleet on an ongoing basis

· Review aircraft on ground and urgent parts requirements for refinement of planning model

· Make scrap replacement decisions

· Relay inventory discrepancy issues to Inventory Auditors

· All other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

· High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma

· Two (2) experience in an inventory management or an aircraft maintenance environment

· Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge

· Depending upon location, may need to possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards

· Pass a ten (10) year background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC)

· Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or Statistics

· Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate

· Inventory Optimization and Planning system(s)

· Data analytics and dashboarding for operational metrics

Crewmember Expectations:

· Regular attendance and punctuality

· Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

· Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

· When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

· Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

· Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

· Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))

· Adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls

· Upholding JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Equipment:

· Computer and other office equipment

Work Environment:

· Normal office environment with occasional travel to the various warehouses

· Aircraft noise and inclement weather may be encountered

· May require travel to meet with aircraft and original equipment manufacturers

Physical Effort

· Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently. (Light)
