Location:San Diego

In support of the CDG Boeing Technical Data Services team, project manager for a geographically diverse team of technical leaders, developing streamlined business processes and metrics, developing and tracking risks and opportunities, organizing and facilitating workshops, and supporting briefings to executive leadership.


Must have an active (or able to obtain) a U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.


Bachelor's Degree or equivalent college degree/certification Preferred: Some progress in program on PMI certification preferred


•5 or more years' experience in project leadership, and familiarity with program management best practices

•Experience working as a collaborative change agent

•Experience in working within a dispersed team environment

•Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration and presentation skills

•Knowledge airlines/aviation industry is a plus

•Strong organizational and communications skills, and attention to detail

•Some travel will be required

Skills and Attributes:

•Knowledge of Project Management theory, concepts and principles (e.g. theory of constraints, critical path methodology, project risk management, triple constraints, project scope management, project management lifecycle etc.) contained in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK[R] Guide).

•Excellent communication skills. Clarifies purpose and importance; stresses major points; follows a logical sequence.

•Accurately interprets messages from others and responds appropriately.

•The ability to review a wide range of processes to identify gaps between requirements and current outputs within own work group.

•Possess skills to consistently tests solutions; gather feedback from own work group, other work groups, and occasionally external customers on effectiveness.

•Capable of making customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships.

•Has the capacity to integrate information from a wide variety of sources; detect trends, associations, and cause-effect relationships; create relevant options for addressing difficult problems/opportunities and achieving desired outcomes.

•Ability to create comprehensive project schedules which identify time frames for key project milestones, direct and manage more complex project schedules, independently identify project resource requirements, collaborate with others on more complex projects assigned, and assist others in complex large scale projects.

•Ability to accept, direct, and perform responsibilities.

Essential responsibilities:

•Ensures that all project control systems, within the scope of the project, are in place and integrates project data for decision makers.

•Consolidates independently generated project data by interfacing with functional specialist for an understanding of project impact items (such as: trade-offs among cost, schedule, quality and risk).

•Develops work-around plans, schedules recovery plans, alternative options or scenarios, resource capacity plans, or risk mitigation plans, or re-baselines the project, as required.

•Provides recommendations to decision makers.

•Identifies and tracks project risks using project management tools and techniques and develops alternative plans for project completion.

•Compiles and or directs the collection and provides guidance for reviews of industry standards, PMBOK or similar industry-standard project management methodologies, and any available data source for best practices, lessons learned, historical and forecast of historical and forecast data to perform trend, earned value and variance analyses, analyzing key factors (e.g., hardware and software maturity levels, strategic alliances with other companies, subcontractor capabilities) and risk assessments in order to develop plans or make recommendations for change.

•Incorporates changes, lessons learned and best practices into project control systems to maintain work statements, cost and schedule baselines. '

•Negotiates with project participants and stakeholders to establish project deliverable definition, task scope, task sequence and schedule commitments in order to maximize efficiency of project plan.

•Discusses project objectives and deliverables with the project team to obtain understanding and acceptance of work assignments.

•Obtains recommendations from project team concerning work-arounds, recover plans, work scope, changes, etc.

•Presents project status to identified project stakeholders to keep them informed of progress and changes to the project.

•Other duties as assigned.
