Procter & Gamble.
The Intern will lead a pilot project to review and assess P&G consumer adverse health effects from social media sources against data collected via direct contact (e.g. phone calls). We will compare the information from these sources to understand possible demographic differences of consumers reporting complaints via different contact methods, evaluate the types of adverse events reported, and explore any emerging patterns in the types of intervention being sought to treat the adverse events. Conclusions and inferences regarding potential areas of concern, consumer habits and practices, and risk/benefit analyses will be summarized and shared with the broader cross-functional stakeholder community. This analysis can help GSSA understand the potential for social media-sourced data to influence the appearance of the on-market safety profile for specific products, and allow stakeholder functions (QA, GPS) to be informed about this potential influence on our perception of on market product safety.
As a PhD intern at P&G, you will be working on projects that will expand your capabilities (that can be completed within 10-12 weeks) and will be meaningfully related to your classroom and research education. The training and mentoring we provide will represent an unparalleled opportunity for professional and personal growth and the opportunity to explore a career in industry.
At P&G, intern sessions are considered temporary employment, with a predicted ending point. No full-time employment commitments are made; however, depending on satisfactory completion of certain criteria, candidates may be considered for full-time positions upon obtaining their PhD. The preferred period for the 10 to 12 week internship is June to September. The internship is a paid, full-time, 40 hour per week position. Hourly rates are based on the student's academic year completed.
We are looking for a PhD candidate who is working towards their degree in Pharmacy or Life Science or Medicine.
