company. Along with mobile consumer
products, Yahoo is investing heavily in mobile advertising. Yahoo has recently launched Yahoo Gemini (http://www.tumblr.com/search/yahoo gemini)
- the world's first advertising marketplace for both search and native
ads. We are looking for research scientists
(at all levels) with skills and experience in one or more of the following
areas: Computational Advertising, Click and Conversion Modeling, Machine Learning, Data
Mining, or Natural Language Processing,.
·Propose innovative ideas to improve the
monetization and quality of the Gemini advertising platform.
·Perform statistical analyses on large data sets,
identify problems and propose solutions.
·Conceive, design, prototype, and evaluate complex
algorithms and statistical models that can be integrated into the advertising
·Document your software implementations and
experimental results ·Work with business teams
to gain acceptance of proposed policies and designs.·Generate intellectual
property with patent applications and publications at relevant forums·Stay current on published
state-of-the-art techniques for online advertising
·Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical
Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, or similar field.
·Strong track record of developing novel and
scientifically sound techniques to solve real world problems.·Solid programming skills in Java, C , or scripting languages
like Python or R in a Unix environment·Hands-on skills in cleaning, manipulating, analyzing,
visualizing and modeling large data sets.·Experience
with machine learning, data mining, computational advertising, click and conversion modeling, or natural language
and written communication skills.·Ability to
thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial culture
with large scale data processing on Hadoop is a plus·Familiarity
with online advertising is a plus
