\tAnticipate trends and issues in the Category to identify potential opportunities or risks
\tQuantify short and long term growth opportunities through financial modeling
\tTrack key competitors in the marketplace to highlight Category trends and/or opportunities
\tCollaborate with key stakeholders in Category and Sales to develop plans to seize the opportunities identified
\tInfluence the Planning organization to ensure Category insights are appropriately represented in account business plans
\tReview and analyze deviations from plan; identify potential risks or opportunities in the business
\tTrack and monitor total Category results against the plan
\tRecap Category results for the season and cull insights that will influence Category business direction

\tBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Sales, Fashion, Marketing or a related field
\tExperience in Retail Buying, Planning and/or Strategic/Business Development for a multi-store retailer; 2 years' additional experience in lieu of a degree
\tAbility to synthesize large amounts of information and insights from multiple sources into a clear and concise plan
\tStrong and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence others
\tExperience in developing an understanding of customers, competitors and retail trends; knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market preferred
\tAbility to interpret financial sales data to make decisions and recommendations that impact the business
\tAdvanced knowledge of MS office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint; proficiency in Excel to include creating spreadsheets, complex formulas, pivot tables, etc
\tAbility to work in a matrix environment with multiple business functions
\tStrong team player and ability to work with the cross functional partners and senior management on all aspects of the business
