Retail Strategy Director
To position the Coca-Cola Company as our Retail Customers’ Most Valuable Partner, we must continue to better define and address the needs of our National Retail Sales Customers and consistently deliver differentiated value beyond price. The role of the Director of Retail Strategy is to identify and develop new offerings and opportunities to improve our differentiated value bundle, including initiatives such as the digital value proposition, eComm capabilities, breakthrough aligned marketing and “BevNext” (future of beverages) initiatives and to collaborate with NRS leadership to develop multi-year customer focused business strategies.
Identify, Build and Commercialize Current Retail Value Proposition across Six Key Organizational Capability Areas (Insights, Expertise, Portfolio, Shopper Marketing Solutions, Local Activation, Operational & Executional Excellence)
Partner with SMEs across organization to develop and commercialize content to drive organizational capabilities that can be used to create value for our Customers.
Drive awareness and usage of top priority organizational capabilities via on-going management of website & routine NRS communication plan
Partner with Industry Voice team to embed value proposition into all customer-facing industry events, B2B media, and in key KO-owned assets including the KO Lab and the SEIC
Partner with Capabilities team to develop NRS learning curriculum for top priority offerings
Advance and Steward the Retail Value Proposition (The Coca-Cola Commitment)
Identify & prioritize opportunities, as well as build & commercialize content to add or improve new and unique value bundle elements across based on Customer needs across six capability.
Lead & create multi-channel customer focused strategic initiatives to address unmet current and future state Customer needs (e.g. development of the KO Digital Value proposition)
Identify & enable opportunities for segmented Retail bundle solutions
Lead initiatives such as “Breakthrough Aligned Marketing” (digital, assets, etc.) or “BevNext” (insights, trends, emerging categories and brands), via bundling Coke expertise and unique offerings into a customer collaborative platforms, leveraging the Coca-Cola Commitment foundation (C3).
Support Group Director, Retail Strategy with development of multi-year strategic imperatives for Total Retail Marketing, inclusive of data/insights, customer value identification, future trends, Coke system business drivers, etc.
Experience and Education
Minimum: 6 – 8 years marketing, brand/portfolio management, sales and/or strategy business experience, preferably in CPG and/or Retail industries.
Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred
Advanced strategic thinking & experience with broad strategy development across channel, brand, category, or customer. Forward looking vision & anticipation of future needs
System Analytics including research, opportunity/SWOT assessments, and ability to prioritize the highest leverage opportunities for CCNA & Customers.
Experience with collaborating and influencing cross-functional teams
Ability to translate strategy into high impact marketing tools, commercial plans, and selling materials
Proven track record of delivering sustainable results
Passion for working with customers and creating customer Coca-Cola system value
Travel: up to 20%
