Department: Safety Start Time: 8:00 AM **Start time may vary by up to 1 hour earlier or later to align with production needs** SUMMARY:In partnership with Departmental Managers and Departmental EHS Coordinators and under the direction of the Mgr., EHS, the Plant EHS Coordinator position is responsible for coordinating and supporting execution of Safety, Security, and Environmental activities. The Plant EHS Coordinator provides technical and administrative support to the various departments at the Lodi facility. MAIN DUTIES:
Conduct safety, security, and environmental audits and inspections on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis to ensure compliance and safe conditions in the plant.
Provide safety support to the Logistics, Maintenance, and QA/Sanitation work teams.
Generate accurate weekly reports for various departments.
Organize and file safety, security, and environmental records in the plant file system and software system.
Translate and coordinate safety training based on the training schedule.
Administer the PPE programs for safety shoes, prescription safety glasses, LOTO, etc.
Lead a safety sub-committee.
ART scheduling.
Work with leads, supervisors, and safety coordinators to ensure the accident reporting and investigation process is completed.
Update and maintain safety pillar boards and safety information in break room and on Jumbotron
Create and validate ECS and JSA sheets for plant equipment and job tasks
Conduct area assessments, task evaluations, and job rotation audits
Track and maintain elements of the Safety Management System and EHS Improvement Plans for assigned departments, including scoring progress
Coordinate and support annual OSHA required activities (e.g., evacuation drills, respirator training, hearing testing, OSHA Log validation, etc.)
Lead new hire orientations.
Inspection and upkeep of all Alchemy equipment in training rooms.
Observe and immediately correct (or recommend a course of action) routine safety infractions as noticed in the plant
CPR/FA/AED responder and First Aid room key holder
Other duties, as assigned
\Carries the Flag\ for facility EHS initiatives and programs. Always observes safety and security procedures. Reports and/or immediately corrects potentially unsafe conditions. Uses equipment and materials properly at all times. Understands the high level of scrutiny placed on this position to all things related to SAFETY, SECURITY, and the ENVIRONMENT.
Comply with standard food industry Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and all other food safety requirements as they relate to all products and processes.
Report any food and occupational safety problems or potentially unsafe practices/conditions to the management team

Daily interaction with positions at all levels on safety and compliance matters. Must be able to learn intermediate-level proprietary software packages, and must be able to search and research on the web. Technical and Mechanical Skills: Ability to learn technical skills and knowledge through professional development projects. Ability to safely operate and use non-mechanized hand tools. Flexibility: The position constantly deals with a changing priority list, largely dependent upon the facility schedule, set by the management. Demonstrated ability to print and speak simple sentences and the ability to record data or make notes in a legible and accurate manner, in English. EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 2-3 years related safety experience and/or training, or combination thereof, is preferred. Previous experience with OSHA and EPA requirements and standards related to manufacturing and worker's compensation is preferred; or ability to learn and develop a working knowledge thereof Bilingual in Spanish and English speaking and writing skills is preferred. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, to stand, to walk and to reach with hands and arms. The manipulation of specialized hand tools is required. The employee is regularly required to safely walk up and down stairs and ladders, and in the conditions regularly found in a production work environment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, without assistance. Occasionally, the employee will bend, stoop, squat, stretch, push and pull.
