JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Sales Consultant to represent BD's product portfolio to the US acute care and alternate site healthcare market segments. The Sales Consultant sells medical devices/consumables such as IV catheters, hypodermic needles and syringes, pre-filled saline syringes, and Chloraprep products - patient preoperative skin preparation products. Geography: Indianapolis, Indiana & Lexington, Kentucky predominantly.

Primary responsibilities include: meeting/exceeding sales territory budget; managing incremental conversion opportunities from initial targeting through evaluation, product ordering and in servicing; maintaining existing business; implementing marketing initiatives; implementing national/regional contractual agreements; providing routine performance reporting; working with local distributor branches servicing the territory; and utilizing available sales support resources.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree

3-5 years' experience as a sales professional with a solid track record (examples will be requested)

Knowledge and understanding of buyer/ decision maker types

Ability to speak and communicate effectively

Ability to negotiate and close the deal

Ability to use and analyze data

Must have intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PP

Must be able to travel 10-20%

Prior experience in managing both internal and external budgets and resources, conducting pre-call planning, and ability to prioritize and segment accounts

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business or life sciences

MBA a plus

Former clinical experience a plus

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

Good interpersonal skills to develop rapport

Effective selling, listening, and verbal/presentation skills, and ability to assess and respond to customer needs
