Description Job Summary: ON Semiconductor Corporate Research & Development is seeking an experienced creative semiconductor device development architect with demonstrated achievements in device development and electrical characterization for developing BCD and HVIC analog devices. Devices will be incorporated into 250nm 180nm and 110nm CMOS nodes. The team is located at the corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona and is passionate towards creating state-of-the-art technology for automotive and AC-DC and medical applications. The team of 8 people collaborate with manufacturing, applications, IC design and reliability engineers to deliver technology tailored for ON products. The team operates with a high degree of initiative across a broad range of engineering disciplines. Passion, continuous learning and creativity are highly valued and good communications skills are important. Group reports to the VP of Corporate R&D Device Engineering. Performance Objectives: The successful candidate will: Collaborate with AC-DC and Automotive businesses to develop and deliver silicon devices for 80V-800V ICs. Contribute towards process integration development. Utilize Synopsis TCAD simulation tools to design and demonstrate silicon device performance and safe operating area using 2-D and 3-D meshing. Characterize devices to assess experimental results using semiconductor parameter analyzer, source meters, CV meter, engineering prober and pulsed sources. Knowledge or willingness to learn Python to control measurement instruments is highly valued. Create well designed experiments using best known methods such as screening experiments and surface analysis techniques to model process variation effects on device performance and establish safe-operating-area. Qualifications PhD in Electrical Engineering \/Physics OR MSEE with appropriate work experience. 6 years of semiconductor device development experience and device characterization. Demonstrated history of successful problem solving of device fabrication issues. Excellent command of semiconductor device physics, reliability and modeling theory.
