Sr. Back-End Software Engineer
DESCRIPTION Title: Back-End Software Engineer Location: Minnetonka, MN Department: Technology Our Company: PeopleNet PeopleNet, a Trimble Company, is in business for the trucking fleet of tomorrow, providing mobility and software solutions that give fleet managers and drivers tools to streamline safety, efficiency and control. PeopleNet s network communications, mobility and analytics products are used by more than 2,000 truckload, LTL, private and oil and gas services fleets throughout North America. Position Overview As a Technical Manager on our OEM Back-End team you ll guide a development team of software engineers in building custom solutions. The Technical Manager's are responsible for technology strategy, development, and holistically driving delivery and cultural changes necessary to attain maturity in IT capabilities. Using Agile methods, you ll be involved in all aspects of the development lifecycle including work planning, sprint execution, roadmaps, testing, and operational execution. Your main responsibilities will be working with the developers to help them be efficient and successful and partnering with other PeopleNet business units to ensure we meet their needs. 80% Technical Expertise and Guidance: Provide technical direction to the OEM Back-End Team while also being involved in hands-on design and development. SQL, RESTful API Integrations, Oracle, MySQL, Ruby/Rails... 20% Training and Development: Provides technical and non-technical advice and training to team members where needed.
