The Challenge Ahead:

EA’s Digital Platform (EADP) organization is responsible for driving critical technology decisions and investments for EA on a global basis, across all divisions and studio teams. Technology and engineering leadership at EA is critical to making the industry’s best games and services and the EADP team is leading the way to providing cross-platform infrastructure that will keep our consumers connected with our games anytime, anywhere with anyone.

What a Sr. Director, EADP Engagement Operations does at EA:

As Sr. Director, EADP Engagement Operations you will drive and deliver organizational operations and effectiveness across a wide range of domains and processes. This would include improving operational engagement processes such as aggregated scope planning, commitment and communication to customers. This includes mechanisms such as unified roadmap representation, and operational mechanisms supporting per title engagements and recurring syncs between platform and strategic customer leadership teams.

This person would work closely with the technical product, program and engineering leaders across multiple platform domains to streamline and align on the right level of common process and practices. This role will lead a team (a senior program/portfolio manager, content development team, developer relations), but its value multiplier is through orchestration and influence with partner teams, driving ‘one team’ vision, speaking with one voice, operating as one platform.

The Sr. Director, Engagement Operations will:

+ Partner across teams to enact strong, repeatable processes, provide responsive, rigorous engagement, and deliver transparent high-quality communication for EA game teams and platform partners

+ Streamline requirements intake process and ensure integrated planning that meets customer expectations. Direct accountability for the Greenlight scope commitment processes, and evolving a shared long range roadmap process with supporting communication and change management

+ Own coordinating and developing executive communications and presentations for CTO including: managing quarterly all hands content; gathering key status’/progress information and content for Board of Directors presentations and other cross-domain efforts and executive communications

+ Manage the Developer Content team (web dev, IA and contract technical writers), provide requirements for documentation content management workflows, common templates and taxonomy. Partner tightly with the Platform Product Manager to coordinate information design across Domains and Services teams.

+ Manage the Developer Relations team, who provide account management and onboarding support to assist game teams and other Platform customers to integrate and utilized Platform products and services. Act as senior escalation point for DevRel issues. Continuously monitor and optimize DevRel processes and personnel. Partner with domain leaders to refine and evolve DevRel remit, supporting the drive to deeper automation, less manual onboarding, and greater developer productivity.

+ Manage the Platform PMO, who coordinates standardized planning and reporting processes across the individual Domains and Services, providing coaching as well as hands-on guidance and recommendations for improved individual and group operational processes

+ Champion and drive the value and utilization of a common platform and process for document and sharing information

+ Maintain and manage the Operational Backlog of cross-org issues and decisions to ensure transparency, assignment to accountable owners, monitor progress and facilitate processes for resolution when stalled or blocked

+ Manage communication and training on processes, portal and tools for customers and partners

The next great EASr. Director, EADP Engagement Operationsneeds:

+ Minimum 10 years building and delivering processes for software development, live operations or related experience

+ Demonstrated people leadership in complex technology disciplines

+ Demonstrated leadership and development of a team of junior to senior professionals

+ Deep understanding on large scale platform capabilities with enough technical depth across these capabilities to ensure communications and portal content meets the needs of developers

+ Strong communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of management

+ Good understanding of HD and mobile gaming industry, development, platforms, and ecosystems

+ Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and partner/influence across complex organizations

+ Provide direct and indirect reports with mentoring, coaching, feedback, and performance reviews

+ Build sustainable relationships with appropriate contacts within EADP delivery teams, the wider EA organizations and external partners.

+ Perform special projects and departmental initiatives as needed

+ Collect, analyze and report on critical performance measures
