 ','!*!The purpose of this position is to coordinate the design, installation and start-up of plant construction or process equipment projects for Feed Manufacturing operations. Incumbent is responsible for development of the project scope working closely with the Region Director of Manufacturing and Plant Manager, develop project and process design, capital and expense estimates, contractor selection, equipment specifications and purchases, implementation timeline and coordinate implementation plans for the projects.

This role will focus on plant electrical systems including incoming power lines, transformers, switchgear, MCCs and components such as SMCs and VFDs.  Strong knowledge of PLC based systems and components. Working knowledge of arc flash surveys and mitigation options. Strong working knowledge of electrical systems safety and maintenance.  Work closely with Region Director of Manufacturing and Plant Managers to provide tools to optimize electrical and PLC system designs.


Experience-Education (Required): 

-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related Degree with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in Feed, Grain Processing, Cereal Foods Processing or related Manufacturing

-Excellent project management skills and the ability to lead high complexity, large scale projects

-Previous/current experience in the design and installation of electrical power, MCC and PLC process equipment projects and managing multimillion dollar construction projects required

-Experience with Arc Flash and Power Surveys and implementation of methods to reduce arc flash potential

-Solid working knowledge of transformers, electrical switchgear and power distribution, MCCs and PLCs

-Technical processing expertise with a focus on packaging processes


Competencies – Skills (Required):

-Prepare process designs, equipment specifications and capital estimates for process upgrades and modifications to existing electrical and PLC systems

-Work closely with Senior Managers and Plant Managers on the capital approval and implementation steps

-Validate expected improvements are obtained from capital investments

-Prepare equipment and installation standards for electrical equipment

-Provide project management working with contractors, equipment vendors and plant personnel to insure on budget and on schedule project implementations

-Subject matter expert on power and controls systems for plant personnel

-Provide technical input to plants on configuration of electrical systems, selection of electrical components and configuration of components

-Provide technical support of HazMon systems such as bucket elevator monitoring system

-Provide technical support for a wide range of sensors and monitoring equipment used in processing systems

-Work with vendors to develop design standards

-Ability to understand root cause of problems and develop solutions is critical to success. Fact based reasoning and recommendations are essential to optimizing process variables and systems.  Visualize process and building revisions and improvements

-The ability to work effectively in a matrix organization with cross-cultural and cross-functional teams

- Experience and career history with Fortune 500 type companies strongly desired


Travel Required: Minimum 50%, may require more as needed


Experience-Education (Preferred):

-Highly preferred individuals with experience in Feed or Grain manufacturing environment

- High volume manufacturing experience

- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Project

-Familiar with OSHA Contractor Safety Standards
