This role will hold responsibilities encompassing processes that span the GapTech (Technology) Finance Portfolio team. This position engages with business partners across the GapTech organization to obtain and exchange information; perform work assignments with limited supervision; exercise analytical and problem solving skills to bring variances and issues to the attention of management; and participate in financial projects. Staff Analyst provides exposure to the accounting and forecasting processes supporting Gap Inc.’s technology function and is a great opportunity for developing skills for future growth opportunities in Gap Inc.
GapTech Portfolio Financial Planning & Analysis
CSSC Capital Accounting
GapTech Portfolio/Project Organization
GapTech Finance Operations
Assist with asset creation and support the financial project close process which includes the compilation of financial data extracts for the technology portfolio of projects
Prepare project costing and general ledger journal entries for the GapTech project portfolio month-end close process. Entries will range from reclass entries to more complex accrual and pre-paid entries
Prepare, analyze, interpret and then distribute management reports
Partner with the team in the planning and implementation of initiatives and process improvements
Collaborate on improvement projects to increase quality, efficiencies and productivity. Including identification of opportunities and recommend changes.
Development and maintenance of accurate and complete process procedures
Ensure compliance with company policies and practices','!*!KEY EXPERIENCES
List experiences needed to be successful in the role, such as industry, functional, global, team, and personal track record
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
1-2 years of financial or business analysis experience preferred
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Knowledge of Oracle Financials, or similar application
Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
Demonstrated customer service and problem resolution skills
Solid interpersonal skills with proven ability to maintain effective business partner relationships across the organization
Quality verbal and written communication skills
