Within UnitedHealthcare the seasonality of HEDIS Data Collection in the early part of the year and Small Business sales cycle during the latter part of the year requires additional staff to process peak work volumes. 

The Supervisor HEDIS, Operations / VO Sales Operations is an innovative UHC role combining two distinct roles requiring the supervisor to flex between departments throughout the year. The employee will report to the HEDIS Operations Department for 5 months and to the Virtual Operations team for 7 months of the year. As a Supervisor, your individual team will also flex between the two departments throughout the year. This role supervises and is accountable for the daily activities of business support, technical or production team or unit. The impact of work is most often at the team level. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion
Coordinates work activities with other Supervisors and Managers
Develops plans to meet short - term objectives
Identifies and resolves operational problems using defined processes, expertise, and judgment
Manages pipeline of work from end to end to achieve published turnaround times
Works with Business Partners to assure issues resolution, process efficiency and work prioritization
Coaches, provides feedback, and guides others

Virtual Operations: 

UHC Virtual Operations supports the 1 - 100 new business sales processing to support our Sales Account Executives in issuing quotes for medical and ancillary products as well as processing sold case submissions through the case installation process. This is a high production environment and candidates must adhere to measured productivity requirements. 

Responsibilities: 

Supports sales functions to minimize the administrative work of producers daily 
Analyze and report on sales data, communicating changes to sales plans, providing knowledge about customers and competitors, communicating pricing data, and managing the operations logistics of sales meeting and activities
Works closely with sales and other functional leaders to develop and maintain the operational infrastructure supporting sales recruiting, goal setting, training and onboarding, troubleshooting order processing issues and producer requests, and sales related information systems and procedures
Works in multiple applications including Omega, Excel, Solaris, WITT and pricing tools

HEDIS: 

UHC HEDIS Operations combines talented individuals from many areas of quality, including HEDIS, CAHPS and Accreditation. The HEDIS Operations department goal is extraordinary performance that exceeds the expectations of the constituents, customers and members we serve. In this position, you will work with the HEDIS Operations staff to assist with market specific HEDIS collection efforts focused on market specific data collection, provider outreach and medical record collection, identification and organization, as well as the document management policies related to the collection efforts. This is a high production environment and candidates must adhere to measured productivity requirements. 

Responsibilities: 

Ensures compliance with records management programs, including retention schedule requirements and consults on document management techniques
Monitors and supports engagement with HEDIS partners, including vendors, technology, etc.
Determines process improvement opportunities
Participates in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for HEDIS systems
Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements
Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues
Conducts career development program for all direct reports
Upholds UnitedHealthcare Culture Values
Maintains HIPAA standards and confidentiality of protected health information

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma / GED
2 years of relevant experience; Healthcare / Health Plan related to medical records or sales operations
1 years of experience as a team leader or supervisor
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint (Manage email and calendar in Outlook; basic formula manipulations, filter and sort in Excel; create and edit documents in Word; create and edit decks in PowerPoint)
Willingness and ability to telecommute and have a compliant home office environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (or higher)
Clinical and / or Health Education experience
Previous HEDIS experience
Previous experience working in a virtual environment
Experience in claims, medical record review, medical billing, or medical office
Experience faxing from Microsoft Outlook or RightFax
Call center experience
Sales operations / support experience
Experience using a time tracking tools (i.e. OMEGA, MyMetrics, etc.)

Soft Skills: 

Exceptional communication skills; leading meetings, written correspondence, building and delivering presentations
High level of organization skills, including attention to detail and time management skills
Able to accept direction, duties and changing priorities as assigned
Ability to work by reports, and handle multiple cases at one time
Demonstrates ability to assist with focusing activities toward a strategic direction and achieve targets
Ability to solve routine problems on own; works with Manager to solve more complex issues
Excellent time management skills
Works with others as part of a team
Ability to work at desk at keyboard for extended period
Ability to manage in a production environment with metric target goals
Ability to interact with market sales leaders and sales executive as needed and for escalated issues
