The Senior Security Supervisor reports to the Security Manager. The Senior Security Supervisor is responsible for reviewing the day-to-day operations of the plant security program, developing and/or revising security operating procedures, and reviewing and approving audit/inspection reports. This position is also responsible for driving department standards and standardization by driving site and fleet procedural compliance.
Acting as the DPIC Coordinator; Acting as the Self-Assessment Coordinator; Acting as the department procedure lead. Author procedure changes and associated paperwork; Acting as the Safeguards Custodian. Maintain department SGI and oversee site department SGI Custodians; Acting as the department Key Custodian; Acting as the department OE Point of Contact. Review and distribute OE to department and attend site OE meetings; Acting as the Fatigue rule lead. Ensure compliance with the fatigue rule; Acting as the Security CIP lead; Acting as the Change Management lead; Acting as the underground/UAO pathway custodian; Acting as the department records custodian. Oversee record filing and retention; Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.
Independently verifies that department communications are received and understood at all levels of the organization, and reports results to the security manager; Independently ascertains if Safety Culture and SCWE aspects are understood and maintain at all levels of the organization, and reports results to the Security Manager.
Generate and/or assist with generation of department quarterly reports; Prepare quarterly trend reports; Document department monthly performance indicators and input into the database; Maintain the department coaching data as applicable; Maintain license based documents; Provide reviews and feedback for reports generated by other Security Department personnel.
Attend associated fleet and/or industry meetings/conferences to ensure alignment and compliance; Attend site meetings; Acting as the point of contact for upcoming industry and fleet changes; Coordinate and support Force on Force drills; Observes and verifies that weapons handling is performed IAW approved training and fleet governance procedures.
Supervise employees; Ensures industrial safety is a top priority; Participate as part of the interview panel for all open security positions; Participate in level set; Participate as the Co-Op Committee Chairman; Assist on duty Security Supervisors with miscellaneous projects and out of the ordinary shift occurrences; Reviewer of security personnel issues.
Act on behalf of the Security Manager when directed; Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED OF THE POSITION
High School diploma or GED is required, or equivalent work experience. Desired: Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Engineering or other discipline generally associated with plant operations.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OF THE POSITION
4 years of supervisory/management experience at an operating nuclear power plant. Desired: 4 years of experience in Nuclear Plant Security, and experience supervising union and contract employees.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED OF THE POSITION
Technical proficiency in Nuclear Security or the ability to acquire it rapidly. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Desired: Proficiency with current computer business applications. Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.
