This position plans, monitors and manages internal projects from initiation through completion, with primary focus on the development of power generation projects from inception through internal and external approvals. The position secures required resources, and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes. It will manage projects to ensure predictability of project cost and schedule.
Ensures the development and execution of new power generation projects using Entergy's standard project methodology and tools. Directs and coordinates matrixed project teams - consisting of Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Field Engineers - to provide oversight, strategy, and consistency to customer program and project activities. Must collaborate with department managers to guide and outline strategy for current programs and customers.
Provides oversight to determine the scope, performance, cost and schedule in collaboration with internal stakeholders and the requirements stipulated by regulation.. As the executive point of contact for an individual project: has overall responsibility for the success of projects. Requests and assembles project team members, in collaboration with the functional leaders, according to the needs of the project.
Monitors overall project schedule; coordinate internal resources; assess and ensure quality of work on individual projects; responsible for standardization across the portfolio, and replication of configuration and documentation; maintains and manages program level issues. Works with subordinate PMs and project teams, as well as internal stakeholders, to resolve issues. Monitors adherence to project methodology by the PMs on their programs.
Escalates any compliance issues to the appropriate internal stakeholder and alerts other executive leadership on performance issues, etc. Is the direct PM for projects as dictated by Entergy priorities and workload, and needs of the internal stakeholders. Ensures all phases of the projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high level of satisfaction among internal stakeholders. Manages the overall operational and tactical aspects of multiple, large scale projects and programs.
Manages project delivery teams that design, engineer, configure, deploy, and support installation of assigned projects. Internal stakeholder satisfaction on all projects is a high priority and focus of the role. Develops strong working relationships with stakeholders and partner EPC contractors. Continually seeks and capitalizes upon opportunities to increase internal stakeholder satisfaction.
Establishes the project objectives by analyzing project proposal, reviewing and managing project specifications and customer requirements, and collaborating with management. Communicates effectively with internal and external contacts to identify project deliverables. Creates and executes detailed project work plans, and revises, as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements of projects. Maintains project database on assigned projects. Manages financial aspects of all projects. Maintains an accurate revenue recognition forecast for all directly managed projects. Responsible for delivering the revenue forecast. Ensures accurate invoicing and monitors receivables for all projects under his/her direction. Analyzes profitability, revenue, and utilization across projects.
Minimum education required of the position
Typically requires a college or university degree in related field or the equivalent work experience. Preference for degree in engineering and/or advanced degree.
Minimum experience required of the position;
10 +Years . Prefer candidates with 15+ years relevant experience. Experience with the following: 1)power generation projects, development, design, procurement, and construction; 2) natural gas fueled power generation technology; 3) utility-scale solar power generation technology; 4) energy storage technology
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Prefer candidates with strong skills in project management, contract negotiations, financial acumen, decision making, problem solving, analysis and customer service in respect to various stakeholders.
