The VP of Sales is this individual will be responsible for the attainment of budgeted sales and profit objectives within the parameters of the company’s budget. This person will also be responsible for fostering, maintaining and interacting with key clients, regulatory personnel and key distributors. The ideal candidate will provide pertinent market information key inputs into the company’s market strategy and product line initiatives. This individual will be responsible for developing key sales strategies and individual sales and profit objectives to ensure the attainment of the overall region’s goals, ultimately responsible for attainment of revenue, orders, and gross margin goals within North American Electric Market. This individual will be responsible for developing key sales strategies and individual sales and profit objectives to ensure the attainment of the overall North American sales targets. Essential Functions:Has a thorough understanding of high-value system salesDevelop and maintain high level relationships with in customer organization’s and is effective in moving comfortably to develop relations at all levelsUnderstands the value of indirect sales channels and how to coach such organizations to each other’s mutual benefitAbility to organize and manage a cross functional team selling processMust be able to articulately communicate the company’s vision, purpose and value to customers and distributorsDevelop and execute sales tactics to meet and surpass regional sales and profit goalsMust have the ability to internally communicate market trends and potential new market segments, customer requirements, market intelligence, governmental regulatory issues Ability to negotiate, with appropriate support, significant business contractsCan act independentlyExtensive travel is requiredMinimum Qualifications:Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or the equivalent in Sales, Marketing management or Engineering. Minimum of five years direct selling\/sales management and\/or marketing management of complex, utility system salesA track record of achieving and surpassing committed sales resultsKnowledge and experience in gas or electric or water utility industrySelling both directly and\/or through indirect sales organizationsExperience with solutions selling of AMI and electric metrologyAbility to apply AMR\/AMI sales skills to water and electric as well.Knowledge of AMR\/AMI business case drivers a mustPrevious utility or competitive experience in AMR\/AMI a mustProven record of meeting short term revenue targetsProven record of meeting strategic account winsExperience with long term contracts
