Coordinator Community Standards
The candidate will provide duties include: Challenge students to take ownership of their actions, regardless of success or failure, prioritizing integrity and civility. Provide opportunities for students to reflect on the impact their actions have on themselves and those around them with the goal of continuous self-improvement. Assist students in navigating difficult situations, focused on normalizing conflict and improving emotional intelligence. Partner across the College to uphold the Community Standards as a means to promote safety, well-being, and inclusion for all community members. Utilize student data and feedback to intentionally develop programs, training, and campus-wide policies and procedures. Serve as an administrative hearing officer for high-level non-academic cases – leading up to and including potential status changing cases (i.e., loss of housing and/or suspension). Utilize our student conduct software program (Maxient) for the purpose of adjudicating cases and assessment. Assist with the organization, coordination, and implementation of Honor Board recruitment, selection, and training. This includes but is not limited to: reviewing applications, organizing and implementing group process/individual interviews, and providing ongoing training. Plan and manage Honor Board hearings. This includes but is not limited to: coordinating the logistics of the hearing, managing the pre-hearing with the complainant/respondent, working with witnesses, and advising the Honor Board in the determination of a responsibility and sanctions, if applicable. Investigate matters of organizational misconduct. Serve as a co-investigator in gender-based misconduct cases and participate in annual, gender-based misconduct training. Assist with sanction compliance and file retention. Aid in the review and editing process of the College’s policies and adjudication methods annually by coordinating research and bench marking other institutions. Assist with other projects related to community standards that may arise throughout the year. Assume additional responsibilities as needed including on College committees or Task Forces. Assist in the training of student leaders and in the development of campus wide programs.
