Tax Senior

The candidate will collaborate with and assist in the professional development of other tax staff members. Participate in client proposals and other new business development opportunities. Provide tax compliance and advisory services to partnerships, corporations (C Corp and and S-Corp) for a variety of clients in the manufacturing, distribution, real estate, insurance, private equity, and emerging business industries. Lead the execution of client engagements including planning, budget, supervision and review of work completed by other tax staff members. Prepare calculations of estimated payments and tax filing extensions. Prepare tax returns on large more complex tax engagements. Keep firm Tax Managers and Partners informed on engagement progress and any important issues discovered that need resolution. Research tax issues and findings that may impact clients' federal, state, and local tax planning events. Conduct online tax research using tools such CCH Intelliconnect and tax preparation using CCH Axcess and other applicable tax software programs. Communicate on behalf of clients with the IRS and other tax authorities, and represent clients at any potential tax audits. Advise clients on critical issues identified that impact their tax position and provide appropriate solutions. Develop and sustain strong client working relationships. Participate in client proposals and new business development opportunities. Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting or a Business-related field of study is required. An advanced tax degree (MST, J.D., LL.M.) is preferred. Should have 3+ years of relevant tax experience working in a CPA firm, a professional services firm, a tax consulting practice or a large corporate tax department. Prior tax working experience with manufacturing, distribution, insurance, real estate or emerging businesses is required. Working knowledge of CCH Axcess and other tax software programs is required. CPA license or parts of the CPA exam is preferred.
