The Market IT Ops Engineer role in the IDSO DS Mobility SOM organization supports the Market IT Ops Lead and Senior IT Ops Manager for the Americas region to assure E2E delivery of secure and reliable IT services to Mobility sites with a specific focus on site systems and associated connected applications. Responsible for ensuring delivery of smooth operations in line with agreed KPIs. The Market IT Ops Engineer acts as an integrator across the landscape and associated suppliers when systemic or serious issues arise. They have a deep understanding of the IT landscape in their market including IT systems, connected applications, business processes, and a keen understanding of the potential impact should any fail.

What’s the role?

The Market IT Ops Engineer works closely with and drives the relevant suppliers and connected teams in a market to reduce incident volume and provide speedy and quality problem resolution. They aim to resolve structural and systemic issues within the landscape for the applicable technologies and the related supplier(s) via effective problem management. Builds the necessary relationships and operational ways of working with IT and Business stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery of quality service in their market. They ensure support services are delivered according to the applicable local and global support models utilizing approved processes, and actively lead continuous process improvement to drive operational excellence.

What we need from you?

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Minimum five (5) years of IT experience

Bachelor's Degree related to Information Technology preferred

Understand the IT systems including the connected landscape for the market as well as the business processes. Act as an integrator across the landscape to help drive resolution ensure suppliers and IT teams understand business impact of outages.

Ability to coordinate across Suppliers and Shell internal teams to ensure issue resolution

Works with suppliers to identify problems based on frequently occurring issues, recommending fixes or workarounds, and assures supplier reports them into funnel to Shell in agreed template to resolve systemic IT-related problems

Experience with monitoring and initiating work with other specialists and supplier(s) to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Review upcoming changes, identify those impacting the operational landscape, challenge and reject if request changes are too risky, have not been tested properly or are not cost effective from TCO perspective, keeping stakeholders informed.
