The candidate reports to the Provost and leads the Office of Equity. Convenes academic leaders and others to create structures and mechanisms that support a visionary framework for addressing concerns related to the responsibilities of the University's Title IX Program and the Equal Opportunity and Access Program. Develops and implements plans and engages senior leaders of University on tactical strategies for communicating the University's perspective on and leading response to instances of discrimination on campus and to events related to discrimination occurring on other campuses in the world. Works in tandem with the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion to ensure thought leadership at an institutional scale on issues related to all areas touched by discrimination complaints and to encourage diversity in hiring. Ensures adherence to the legal and regulatory structures that frame responses to discrimination in the higher education setting, in partnership with the Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer and the Senior Associate Vice President and Chief Risk & Compliance Officer. Works closely with the Office of General Counsel, Student Affairs, the Office of the Provost, and leaders of the schools and other administrative unit to ensure adherence to the legal and regulatory structures that frame responses to discrimination in the higher education setting. Supervises Office of Equity staff, which includes the Title IX Coordinator, directors of programs, equity specialists, and administrative staff.
