Job Description

What You'll Do:

This Product Manager will work to define and build exciting new proprietary editorial tools for use by hundreds of reporters. This role will work closely with our reporters in the field and our internal software design and development teams in an Agile environment to define user stories, acceptance criteria, groom backlogs, help prioritize features and conduct user acceptance testing. We are building fast, stable, flexible and easy-to-use tools for modern newsrooms. Come join us!

Responsibilities:

Develop an expert understanding of our current and ideal editorial workflows

Work closely with our newsrooms, proactively identify user needs and pain points to inform the product roadmap

Write clear/concise requirement documents and be an engaged member on our Agile Scrum team

Help shape features through thoughtful data collection, insightful observations, and careful analysis

Assist in Quality Assurance for new features

Create customer-facing documentation and guide Knowledge Management, Training and Support

Proactively assist in the management and prioritization of a backlog

Communicate between developers, designers, and our newsrooms regarding goals and requirements

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to set aggressive goals and achieve results

Understanding of journalism, digital workflow and the current media landscape

Analytical and strategic in the way you approach and solve problems

Hands-on experience with web technologies

Knowledge of project management tools

Able to accurately handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment

Detail-oriented with excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Able to work well independently and as a member of a larger team

Exceptional collaborator and communicator (written, verbal)

Up-to-date and knowledgeable about the latest trends, innovations, and media best practices
