Energy Attorney

Profile

Couch White is seeking an attorney for its energy practice group in its Albany office.  Although not a prerequisite, the ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience and knowledge of the New York or federal energy regulatory frameworks.
Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist supervising partners with clients appearing in proceedings before state and federal regulatory agencies.
Draft comments and provide research support for ongoing and cutting-edge state and federal energy policy initiatives.
Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on contracts, including power purchase agreements and asset purchase and sale agreements.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
J.D. with experience at a law firm or comparable corporate or regulatory environment
Excellent drafting skills
Effective communication skills, verbal and written
Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
