Deputy Clerk II

The candidate work for Customer Service/Domestic Violence Division of the Anchorage Trial Court. Assist the public with a variety of case types and perform case management duties. The following are currently assigned duties: Accept filings for civil, small claims, criminal and domestic violence cases; set up and index new case files; Review filings for completeness and route to appropriate division; assign judge and issue summons for civil cases; Schedule court dates for dissolution cases, uncontested divorces, domestic violence, and FED cases; Provide assistance to the public, private attorneys, state agencies' staff, and other court system staff that includes file and copy requests, forms orders, and research materials; Assist customers with court process, giving direction to available resources; Recall outstanding civil and criminal bench warrants, process criminal requests and orders and requests for rescheduling of arraignments; Receipt money into the proper account codes for civil orders, copies, restitution, certified mailings, forfeitures, bail, fines, and marriage ceremonies; Balance till and generate a daily cash drawer summary report; Distribute all emergency DV orders and injunctive orders as necessary; distribute changes of venue to outlying courts for domestic violence cases; Perform duties of an in-court clerk for DV hearings which include opening court, operating recording equipment, administering oaths, writing log notes, and distributing orders; Periodically train co-workers and assist other divisions as directed.
