Building Maintenance Supervisor

Profile

Manage an internal technician staff consisting 6 to 8 technicians who perform general building maintenance, fixturing, and fabrication of millwork & displays for the retail stores.

The Building Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the activities of a group of Building Maintenance Department technicians in the performance of conducting assigned maintenance & fixturing projects. He/she receives work orders, assigns work to the appropriate associates, schedules the work and provides coordination of work assignments with the Stores, Operations, Merchandising and other stakeholders. He provides follow up to verify that the assigned projects are completed in compliance with established company standards. The primary function of the department is to perform planned maintenance repairs. The secondary function of the department is to support fixturing projects at new stores, expansions & remodel projects. In support of the Maintenance functions the department will also be responsible for the transportation of certain surplus assets. The supervisor will prepare reports for Accounting, Human Resources, Allocations, Payroll, and productivity reports.

People Responsibilities:

6 to 8 Building Maintenance technicians

Qualifications:

• Five years’ experience in maintenance of building systems.

• Three years’ experience managing a staff of technicians.

• Experience in hiring and managing outside contractors.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate all work and projects with the regional & district managers and store managers.

• High school diploma (or the equivalent) and firsthand knowledge of the construction trades.

• Required computer skills; Lotus Notes, Excel, Word & Project.
