Job Overview:
A well-established law firm based in Auburn, CA, is seeking a Certified Family Law Specialist to join its legal team. This role is ideal for a California-barred attorney with a strong foundation in family law litigation. The position involves remote work and calls for a detail-oriented legal professional who is confident managing complex family law matters independently.

Duties:

• Manage a full caseload focusing primarily on family law, while occasionally handling matters in estate planning, civil litigation, and business law

• Draft and file court-ready documents, including motions, pleadings, declarations, and legal memoranda

• Offer strategic legal guidance in matters such as divorce, child custody, visitation, and support

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on case-specific issues

• Engage with clients through clear, empathetic communication and regular updates

• Develop case strategies that align with client objectives and California law

• Participate in internal projects focused on improving operational workflows and client service through technology

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in California and good standing with the State Bar

• Minimum of 2 years’ focused experience in family law litigation

• Proven ability to independently manage family law matters from intake to resolution

• Proficiency in remote communication and digital document workflows

• Capacity to handle sensitive cases with discretion and professionalism

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

• Ongoing legal education in family law or related practice areas is advantageous

Skills:

• Strong written and oral advocacy skills

• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Familiarity with legal technology platforms for case management and e-filing

• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision

• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence in client-facing scenarios
