Responsibilities

The Director, Learning Design analyzes content, organizes content, designs solutions, and writes storyboards, scripts, performance support, mobile learning and manuals. Analyzes learning needs and partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content. Writes effective learning objectives and coordinates performance assessments to measure training effectiveness. Ensures course materials are current and relevant to training needs. Tracks and analyzes the training programs effectiveness by examining learner's satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement. Provides instruction and guidance to Facilitators. Knows how to use social media and collaborative tools to facilitate learning. Plans, organizes, and develops training curriculum, materials, job performance aids and programs to meet specific training needs. Uses consultative skills to commit projects and conduct needs analysis with clients to determine whether learning solutions are necessary or relevant. Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves performance. Provides input into functions strategy.

In order to fulfill that mission, we've launched a search focused on identifying an experienced and influential leader to join our Pharmacy team in the role of Director of Learning. In this role, you will have end-to-end responsibility for all learning strategy and operations within our Pharmacy Solutions business - including program design, facilitation, and measurement. This will be a comprehensive portfolio of learning programs that will encompass functional learning, strategic learning, leadership development and training, and technology-enabled learning. This program portfolio will support thousands of employees and contractors across CenterWell Pharmacy, Humana Pharmacy Solutions, Enclara Pharmacia, and the PBM.

The Director will report directly to the Vice President of Pharmacy Business Improvement and will lead an organization of 25-30 associates.

Key Responsibilities


Serve as key strategist around learning needs across all Pharmacy, working directly with the executive leadership team to filter needs, prioritize work, and drive accountability within team
Appropriately manage team resources, including building data-driven cases for additional resources when appropriate
Create and support high-impact learning programs in close collaboration with implementation teams that accelerate associate onboarding, functional learning, and leadership development
Develop a tailored learning strategy and customized materials to cater to the unique needs of stakeholders to ensure learning is accessible and effective, with an understanding and appreciation for our non-traditional work environments (distribution and sales)
Put forward strategies to advance associate acumen across multiple channels, including but not limited to, scheduled learning, on demand learning, in-person learning, virtual learning, and just- in-time information
Offer a platform-based suite of the most effective, flexible contemporary learning techniques, methodologies, and technologies tailored to the needs of the individual business area.
Build talent - invest in growing and developing the learning leaders of today and tomorrow.


Required Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree
5 or more years of management experience
Prior experience working in a consumer centric company leading the learning function or related function
Prior demonstrated capability leading teams and developing and maintaining a dynamic and high performing team culture
Business and analytics experience
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Proven record of success in driving positive change and improvement within an organization
Strong track record in building, developing, and leading a high-performing team of professionals, as well as leading cross-functional teams on a project-by-project basis
Experience in managing change by leading and energizing others, modeling adaptability, and inspiring strong organizational performance through periods of transformation, ambiguity, and complexity
Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive-level audiences.
Highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills


Preferred Qualifications


Master's Degree
8 or more years of technical experience
Broad business and operations experience that extends beyond the immediate learning and development arena
Experience leading learning for a non-office based associate population (like warehouse, distribution, or sales)
Prior experience working in a consumer centric company leading the learning function or related function
Knowledge of modern technology solutions and tools for adult learning
Connection to external best practices through involvement in professional organizations related to Learning (ATD, ISPI, eLearning Guild, etc.)
Current or recent experience in a large, highly matrixed company (i.e., Fortune 250), with proven ability to influence leaders and key stakeholders
