Job Description

Strategic partnerships with government and industry groups are vital to Intel's success. Forging strong relationships with policymakers is a key component of those partnerships. The Director of Government Affairs, Public Sector Policy is a meaningful role on a fast-growing Government Relations team at the premier U.S. semiconductor firm, shaping high-stakes policy decisions at a pivotal moment for our business, our industry, and U.S. technology leadership.

Job Description:

The Director of Government Affairs, Public Sector Policy will manage strategic relationships with federal policymakers and direct advocacy campaigns related to public sector policy, as well as a range of other policy areas that are essential to Intel's business. The Director of Government Affairs, Public Sector Policy will develop strategy, influence policies, and maintain key relationships that position Intel to achieve high growth in a competitive environment. The Director of Government Affairs, Public Sector Policy will also play a key role in developing Intel's public policy positions on IIJA implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and execute federal lobbying strategies that advance Intel's policy positions with a particular focus on public sector policy and IIJA implementation;

Build strong relationships with key policymakers and other federal authorities to enhance Intel's reputation and influence;

Articulate a compelling vision for the importance of U.S. domestic semiconductor manufacturing, Intel's leadership role in the industry, and the federal policies needed to support these priorities;

Identify and help develop Public Sector opportunities;

Collaborate with Public Sector sales leaders on business priorities;

Drive external engagement with trade associations and relevant third parties; and

Leverage your existing extensive network to advocate for Intel's positions on critical policy issues at a time of dynamic change for the semiconductor industry.

Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

10+ years of relevant U.S. government or government affairs experience focusing on public sector policy, including a minimum of 4 years of experience lobbying Congressional and Executive branch leaders and policymakers on procurement policies at a government affairs position in the private sector

Thorough knowledge of the defense authorization process

Proven track record of understanding and influencing regulatory and legislative processes, including successful advocacy efforts that achieved favorable policy outcomes in legislative vehicles such as the NDAA, appropriations bills, and in influencing programmatic implementation

Preferred Qualifications:

An advanced degree is highly desirable

Expertise in the appropriations and implementation processes is highly desirable

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
