Summary:
Responsible for the direction and operation of the warehouse department.
Accountabilities:
Direct supervision and performance coaching of department and hourly work force with emphasis on safety, quality, production positive employee relations.
Train employees to work safely, perform safety inspections, safety contact and conduct employee safety meetings.
Maintain a safe work environment.
Set goals and meeting expectations.
Recognize and reward all employees.
Responsible for all products being received into the warehouse accurately.
Responsible for all products being stored in the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsible for all shipments being accurate, timely, and exceeds our customers expectation.
Responsible for the shipments being loaded on the correct truck load and trailer number by corresponding with our yard spotters.
Fill paperwork out completely and accurately.
Responsible for good housekeeping practices and the facility sanitation goals are met.
Resolve employee issues such as payroll, work instructions, job performance, etc.
Deliver cost savings goals and improve processes.
Coach and assist employees to resolve interpersonal disputes.
Conduct workplace investigations as necessary (e.g. job performance).
Conduct regular communication sessions with direct reports. This includes departmental, line, group and individual sessions.
All other duties as assigned.
Management will appoint a trained designee to fill in for absentees and vacancies.
ALL employees are responsible for upholding principles of SQF 2000.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be willing and able to communicate effectively with company employees and all levels of management.
Must have excellent written & oral communication skills.
Be capable of thinking through situations & have forward thinking to resolve issues.
Must be willing and able to maintain prompt and regular job attendance.
Must be willing and able to work on and around machinery and chemicals.
Education and Work Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates and/or Bachelor Degree a plus.
Three years of distribution experience required.
Experience with warehouse management preferred.
Experience with RF scanners preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with company employees and all levels of management.
Must be willing and able to demonstrate good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, ability to work independently, and must be results oriented.
Must have good problem-solving techniques.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office systems.
Must be able to maintain prompt and regular job attendance.
INTERNAL APPLICANTS: Must not have more than 5 attendance occurrences. Must not have a disciplinary suspension on file within the past 6 months. Must be in your current position for at least 6 months unless this position is a grade higher than what you currently occupy.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Must be willing and able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be willing and able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours.
