SUMMARY: This position is responsible to plan, direct and implement organizational safety programs to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment; plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, federal (OSHA) rules and regulations; work with management to meet all expected safety goals and objectives; manage safety communication meetings routinely using acceptable criteria; work with corporate environmental to oversee local adherence; compile and submit accident reports required by regulatory agencies; provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.Other duties include: monitoring adherence to safety regulations including OSHA laws, Workers Compensation, EEO and ADA employment/labor laws; developing curriculum and conducting training for supervisors and crew relating to safety, defensive driving, and perform other tasks as deemed appropriate by management. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: 3 years' related experience and /or training; prior safety management experience; strong knowledge of safety, health laws, regulations, ergonomics and environmental. Computer Skills: Standard computer skills; Knowledge of Comp Watch. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Special Skills: Display sound judgment and decision-making, leadership and organizational skills. Travel: 0-10%
