Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, one of Delaware’s largest and most respected law firms with its headquarters in the heart of Wilmington in Rodney Square, is seeking an experienced, talented and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our busy Accounting team.
This is a non-exempt, full-time position, with 8:30 am-5 pm schedule and occasional later shift on a rotating basis for coverage.
Daily responsibilities
include, but are not limited to:
Review all payment requests for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
Verify the accuracy of payment requests including invoice and general ledger coding
Understand multi-tiered general ledger structure to accurately code expenses
Manage the check runs/ACH payments
Prepare manual checks as requested
Maintain vendor files and perform 1099 maintenance
Serve as liaison for the accounting department to resolve invoice issues and inquiries, both from internal (attorney’s and dept. managers) and external sources.
Other accounting duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Prior experience in accounts payable role; law firm experience preferred
Elite experience preferred but not required
Accounting and data entry experience
Positive and professional attitude
