In this role, you’ll obtain the most cost effective worldwide and local arrangements for products/services in a specified strategic commodity by employing skills in market research, negotiation, supplier selection and supplier performance monitoring. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, this position is located in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Obtain insight into market events focused primarily on indirect purchasing accounts, activities and cost reductions. Responsibility categories include CAPEX, MRO, industrial lubricants, rolling stock, telecommunications, IT hardware and software, corporate travel program, industrial coatings, office and manufacturing supplies, etc.
Responsible for compliance oversight and management of government regulatory requirements including Conflict Minerals, CTPAT, SBA and DOD filings.
Develop an understanding of the product offerings available, technological developments, and general pricing trends of the market. Development of Regional Commodity Strategies and implementing the direction throughout the organization.
Enter negotiation with appropriate suppliers to develop worldwide and local agreements on pricing, service, and quality levels to be provided.
Finalize terms and conditions offered by each supplier and perform value analysis of alternatives for use in the final selection process.
Identify product cost takeout opportunities and develop action plan to implement savings, and manage the project.
Collect input data from other Manitowoc facilities, Production Control, Quality, and A/P to facilitate performance analysis.
Review and evaluate supplier performance in terms of price, on time delivery, lead time and quality. Provide performance feedback to suppliers, develop appropriate performance improvement action plans in conjunction with the supplier, and initiate improvement activities including coordination with other departments.
Provide technical support to Design, Engineering, Operations and Quality for responsible commodities.
Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards.
Ability to perform job functions in a safe manner.
Ability to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required by Company Policy for the job being performed.
Know and follow established job specific and facility wide safety and health procedures and rules.
Actively participate in safety and health training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
Bring safety and health issues, unsafe acts, and safety suggestions to management’s attention or correct those you can.','!*!JOB REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field required with a minimum eight (8) years of experience in a Supply Chain or Materials Management role.
APICS, CPM, or CPSM certification(s) desired.
Strong business acumen and moderate financial expertise is required.
Demonstrated understanding of the global manufacturing process required.
Must be able to utilize spreadsheet or other analytical software.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required for negotiation and speaking effectively to groups of people on a daily basis.
This position will be located in a normal office environment with exposure to the manufacturing shop floor as required.
Travel required up to 25% of the time or less, based on business conditions.
