The Sr. Learning & Development Specialist a key member of the Learning & Development team and is responsible for the development, delivery, administration and assessment of staff development programs that enable the YMCA of Greater Seattle to meet its goals and objectives. The Sr. Learning & Development Specialist will lead leadership development programs using diverse delivery methods and incorporating adult learning & instructional design principles. This role will partner with other HR functional teams, YGS leaders and external partners to design best-in-class, innovative learning and development experiences, tools and materials. This role will also be responsible for taking ownership in key HR learning technology implementations, sourcing new learning technologies, change management initiatives, staff experience and talent management processes, as needed.
End-to-end management and instructional design of leadership development solutions using a variety of modalities.
Facilitate learning solutions in either a physical classroom or virtual setting. Serve as a role model for excellent instructional facilitation and develop those capabilities in others.
Assess learners’ needs, help design scalable learning solutions, ensure effective delivery of solutions, and continuously improve to address the organizational talent needs.
Consult with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of solutions with in-business needs and constraints.
Continually evaluate solutions not only for quality and business impact, but scalability.
Develop and create learning modules and curricula from concept to implementation to measurement; including synthesizing complex information into key learning points, and developing all learning material including slide decks, instructor guides, workbooks, handouts, eLearning scripts, knowledge checks, and other measurements
Work with the customer to identify training needs and identify content to purchase or content to build using mixed technologies and proven approaches to instructional design.
Design and implement strategies and processes by gathering, synthesizing and shaping data to influence the development needs of operating, business and functional units within YGS.
Maintain online Learning & Development intranet page.
Support performance management and review process education and support for supervisors and staff.
Develop L&D metrics and present on findings as it relates to growth and learning goals as well as meeting L&D objectives for the organization.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Bachelor's degree (in Education, OD, Business, or other related field) or an equivalent combination of education and highly relevant experience required.
4 years of organizational/corporate learning and development and/or learning facilitation experience
Participation in talent development professional field (e.g., ATD membership) a plus
Significant experience with training delivery, facilitation and coaching in a corporate learning environment
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a heavily matrixed organization.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
Experience measuring and reporting on business impact of learning solutions.
Familiar with assessment-for-development tools and processes and use of psychometric assessment tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Passionate about creating highly-interactive and engaging learning environments.
Knowledge of and application of adult learning development methodologies.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including active listening.
Highly-engaging presentation skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to learn new concepts quickly and become the educator.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Other Training and development certifications preferred.
Y-USA Training Certification preferred.
2 or more years collaborating, overseeing or delivering learning content at Y-USA level, highly preferred
