A law firm is seeking a Senior Estate Attorney for their Andover, MA, location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of duties and should possess the following qualifications:

Job Overview: The Senior Estate Attorney will be responsible for meeting and onboarding new clients, preparing and reviewing estate planning documents, probate documents, and Medicaid applications, conducting legal research, preparing probate pleadings and motions, estate tax return filings, and effectively communicating with clients while managing a busy caseload.

Duties:

  • Meet with and onboard new clients.
  • Prepare and review estate planning documents, probate documents, and Medicaid applications.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare probate pleadings and motions.
  • Prepare and review estate tax return filings.
  • Meet with clients to review documents and explain them in plain English.
  • Maintain open and transparent communication with clients, ensuring their matters are updated.
  • Occasionally attend court hearings as needed.
  • Manage a busy caseload efficiently.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable law and fulfill continuing legal education (CLE) requirements.
  • Stay informed about local, state, and federal statutes and applicable laws.
  • Ensure active membership in the Local and State Bar Associations.

Requirements:

  • Admission to practice law in Massachusetts.
  • Exceptional persuasive writing skills and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
  • A four-year bachelor's degree and successful completion of law school from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior associate in the legal field.
  • Ability to handle a heavy caseload with minimal supervision.

This Senior Estate Attorney role requires a strong legal background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases while staying current with evolving legal standards.
